This is America. Land of freedom and opportunity. A nation built on equality. Well, after slavery. And before the Gilded Age of robber barons. And after civil rights. Okay, we’ve never really been aces on those things.

But goddamnit, we’ve always been pretty clear about our stance on dictators: fuck ’em. Fuck fascism, fuck authoritarianism, fuck rulers. This is a country that refreshes the tree of liberty with the blood of tyrants.

But somehow over the past few decades, a whole lot of us have been brainwashed. We’ve been scared into believing that this country is falling apart because of “liberal Marxist commie Democrats” or whatever. And the only solution is to elect a tyrant that’s on our side. A strongman that will ignore the law, ignore the Constitution, ignore everything that actually makes America great, and will punish those that have a different opinion.

We’ll discuss what’s wrong with liberals and the Democrats later.

For now, let’s make one thing clear: America was doing fine. All the fear-mongering by Fox News and Breitbart and Alex Jones and Newsmax and all the other insane right-wing propaganda is total horseshit. It was ratings. It was influence to benefit the billionaires that own the news networks and their buddies. It was grifting to sell gold and guns and supplements to people whose brains were turned to mush from 24/7 streams of hatred and division. It was fake Christianity. It was lies about how great things were back in the good ol’ days. Again, we’ll discuss why this is all lies later.

But all of that propaganda has gotten us here. Where one of our two political parties (another problem we’ll discuss) is openly throwing up Nazi salutes behind the presidential seal and on the stage at CPAC.

Fuck that.

Fuck the plausible deniability… “oh, it was a Roman salute.” “It was a wave.” We all know that’s a crock.

Fuck the excuses that they’re just trolling. They’re not. But even if they were it wouldn’t matter. We must not tolerate Nazis.

This has to be the line. This has to be where true American patriots rise up and shut this shit down. Liberals and conservatives can go back to hating each other later, but at this moment in our history, every decent American needs to stand up and loudly say that this is not what we stand for, and we will not stand for it.
